Thème « L’avenir inspiré par notre héritage »
Les valeurs de notre héritage, profondément établies dans notre passé, constituent une source d’inspiration pour valoriser l’avenir de notre pays.
Règles du concours
Ø Mettre en valeur et utiliser des éléments du patrimoine et de l’histoire de Saint-Martin, de sa faune, de sa flore et son environnement.
Ø Format : 50 cm x 65 cm (format raisin) et devra être présenté sur toile, papier ou autre support.
Ø Pour les participants travaillant sur support électronique, la résolution du document devra être adaptée à l’utilisation de l’emblème sous différentes formes.
Ø Merci de joindre une biographie personnelle avec une photo, et une explication de l’œuvre (minimum 200 mots) démontrant la force et clarté de sa vision.
Ø Au dos de l’œuvre ou du CD, les informations suivantes sont à inclure :
Concours du Nouvel Emblème de Saint-Martin
Nom complet et signature
Adresse et numéro de téléphone
Date à laquelle l’œuvre a été réalisée
Critères de participation
Ø Etre au minimum âgé de 16 ans (participants mineurs devront présenter une autorisation parentale)
Ø Etre de nationalité française
Ø Vivre à Saint-Martin ou y être originaire
Date limite
Ø Les travaux devront être remis avant le 27 mars 2009 à 17 heures, au secrétariat du Président, à l’Hôtel de la Collectivité à Marigot.
Mode de sélection des gagnants et Prix
Ø Le projet final devra correspondre au thème proposé et être une œuvre d’art originale créée spécialement pour le concours de l’emblème.
Ø L’artiste devra faire la preuve de sa compréhension du thème, ainsi que de grandes qualités de créativité et d’innovation dans son travail.
Ø Les propositions des concurrents seront examinées par un jury composé de sept personnes.
Ø Cinq finalistes seront choisis et chacun recevra un prix de 500€. Sur les cinq finalistes, un gagnant sera sélectionné et recevra le premier prix de 2000€. Son travail deviendra après vote du Conseil Territorial, l’emblème officiel de la Collectivité de Saint-Martin.
Présentation de l’emblème officiel
Ø L’emblème sera présenté le 21 Mai 2009.
Le travail soumis par les finalistes deviendra la propriété de la Collectivité de Saint-Martin.

Theme « Moving forward Anchored in the past »
Anchored in the past reflects the importance of our heritage and history as the ideals that incite us to move forward to improve our country.
The purpose of the Saint-Martin Emblem
Competition is to give the public of Saint-Martin an opportunity to express their pride and their love of country by creating an emblem that will represent the island both on the national and international scene.
Entry Rules & Regulations
Ø The emblem must display and use elements of Saint-Martin’s heritage and history, wild life, plant life and environment.
Ø All entries must be done on a 50 cm x 65 cm canvas (format “raisin”), paper or other materials.
Ø All proofs, ideas and or trial works are to be submitted along with the final proposal.
Ø Those working with electronic media must insure that the resolution is adequate for the emblem to be adapted to various uses.
Ø On the back of the work or CD in the upper right corner are to be included the following information:

Address and telephone number
Date on which the work was completed
Eligibility requirements
Ø Participants must be aged of 16 years or older (all minors must have parent’s or guardian’s written consent to participate)
Ø French nationals living on or originating from Saint-Martin
Ø Artists must submit a personal biography along with their photograph and a description of their work (minimum 200 words).
Submission deadline
Ø All works must be submitted no later than 5:00 pm on March 27, 2009 to the President’s office at the Hotel of the Collectivité in Marigot.
Selection process
Ø The final projects will be reviewed and graded by a 7 member board of judges.
Ø The final projects have to depict the theme as established and be an original work of art created for the purpose of the “The Saint-Martin Emblem Competition.
Ø At the end of the process, 5 finalists will be selected and will each be awarded a prize of 500€.
Ø From the 5 finalists a winner will be selected and will be awarded the first prize of 2000€ and his/her work will become, after a vote by the Territorial Council, the official emblem of the Collectivité of Saint-Martin.
Presentation of the official emblem
Ø The winning selection will be displayed on Mai 21, 2009.
Please note that all works submitted will not be returned and will become the property of the Collectivité of Saint-Martin.
