Marigot center: The blue parking area will be op
The first measure initiated by President Hanson and his team in the context of the revitalization of downtown Marigot, the creation of a parking zone known as "blue zone" was recorded by the executive board, 05 May 2015. This new territorial regulation will come into force at the end of this year and will concern about 450 parking spaces.

Considering the ever increasing growth of the fleet and the need for public order and public interest, the Executive Council decided to allow a normal rotation of vehicle parking in downtown Marigot. An initiative that aims to boost the parking in the center of Marigot and thus allow tourists to park more easily.

Public parking places for the following lanes will be affected by the blue zone:

- the places of the 1 number of the Boulevard de France (level rue des pêcheurs),

- all the squares of the Rue de la République,

- all the squares of the Rue de la Liberté,

- all the squares in the rue du Général de Gaulle,

- all the places on Saint-James Street,

- all the squares of the street of President Kennedy,

- all the places of the street Victor Maurasse,

- all the squares of the street of the town hall.

In the zones indicated, any driver leaving his vehicle parked shall be required to use a parking time control disc in accordance with the standard model of the 29 Minister of the Interior's decree on February 1960. This record shall be affixed prominently to the front of the parked vehicle without the personnel assigned to the surveillance of the public road having to engage on the road to read it. He will have to show the time of arrival at the same time as the time limit of parking and will have to be removed as soon as the vehicle is put back into circulation.

The maximum parking time in the blue zone is set to 1 30 time, from 8h00 to 18h00 every day except Sunday and public holidays.

The means of control "disk" will be made available to the administrators on the basis of one record per household free of charge. Any additional disk will be invoiced 1 € with the services of the Collectivity.

The blue zone will be indicated by signs at the entrance of zone and streets, the Community will install them as of summer 2015. The Community is also planning to set up shuttles between the Galisbay car park and the city center, in order to allow frequent users of the city center to park their vehicles on the outskirts of the city.

President Aline Hanson and the six other members of the executive board voted unanimously to create the Blue Zone, an initiative to make the city center of Marigot more accessible to the many visitors, thereby fostering economic Access to the many shops.
