President Daniel Gibbs and his team made the election promise, a major clean island operation will be launched over two weekends, the 01 and 02 July, from 7h to 13h, and the 8 and 9 July 2017, under the slogan " St. Martin Friendly Island - Clean Island ".

This action for the environment and respect for the territory, the community of Saint-Martin wants it collective and solidarity and invites the whole population to participate. The objective is to carry out a major cleaning in preparation for the hurricane season and make Saint-Martin an eco-Friendly destination.

This early July was chosen by the Sustainable Development Pole and its Vice President, Mr. Steven Patrick, to give this great cleanliness to our Friendly Island, with 4 half days of action.

The public is thus invited to join elected officials and community staff to clean the private properties while the community will continue the cleaning work on the public domain with all people who wish to join the scheme. Businesses and neighborhood associations are invited to participate in this collective effort by helping to clean up the public domain. The community will put waste and bulky waste bins at the disposal of residents in each neighborhood.

In order to comply with selective sorting procedures, it is recommended to collect and selectively deposit the waste in the bins provided for this purpose. These actions are important because they will enable the ecosite and Grandes Cayes staff to treat the waste reasonably and to integrate them as necessary into a recycling process.

At the same time, the community has launched its VHU operation for the removal of the carcass of a user vehicle entirely free of charge for all those who wish to make themselves known to the personnel of the community who will be in the field, or directly to the service in charge, Contacting the 0590 52 27 30. Removal of carcasses and bulky carcasses will be carried out during the week on request of the local residents.

Friendly Island - Clean Island: Our Duty of Solidarity!

President Daniel Gibbs and his team are fulfilling their election promise to undertake a major cleaning spree of the island beginning of July. The Collectivity of Saint-Martin invites the population to share a spirit of solidarity, by putting forth a conscious effort towards environmental wellbeing and respect for the land.

Just before the beginning of the school year, July 1st & 2nd and July 8th and 9th will be the time in which the Sustainable Development will unite with its Vice President, Mr. Steven Patrick. Major cleaning operation of our.

The public at large will be allowed to join this clean up in private areas while the departments of the Collectivity will carry out daily cleaning routines on public domain. Companies and associations are invited to join the community in this campaign.

To help in this collective effort, garbage bins and containers will be made available to residents of every district in order to dispense from their trash.

So as to respect and sustain a sort of clothes, it is recommended that upon collection of your rubbish that you do selective sorting and discard at the correct waste bin provided for that purpose.
These efforts are of great significance because they allow the workers at the Ecosite facility in Grandes-Cayes to easily treat the waste and transform it if necessary into a waste recycling solution.

Both Mr. Daniel Gibbs and his 4th Vice President, Mr. Steven Patrick, are appealing to their fellow citizens to actively take part of this innovative clean-up campaign on July 1 and 2nd for districts number 1, 2 and 3 Pond area to Cripple Gate / Friar's Bay), and July 8th and 9th, 2017, for the districts number 4, 5 and 6 (from Cripple Gate to Low-Lands).
