The Community is working on the 2015 vocational training program

Since 2007, the Community of Saint-Martin exercises the skills devolved to the territories in the matter of vocational training. Within the framework of the 2015 budget guidelines, the President of the Territorial Council, Mrs Aline HANSON, made education and training the focal points of the Community's action for the 2015 year.

Indeed, the Collectivité has made a commitment to provide its population with tools enabling it to raise its level of qualification and thus increase its chances of a sustainable professional insertion.

The training program responds perfectly to this objective and allows the Collective to offer remobilization and qualifying training.

Thus, in order to adapt training to the needs of the economy, discussions took place over a period of eight months with the partners (administrative, institutional, socio-professional ...). Meetings and meetings with partners were organized with the aim of identifying the short- and medium-term training needs of jobseekers in the territory.

The last meeting took place on Tuesday 31 March 2015 in the Community, it was aimed at restoring and updating the data collected during the various stages of the census.

Once the training census is finalized, the Community will launch the calls for tenders to select the training organizations. The first training sessions will thus begin in the last quarter 2015. This training plan will be largely financed by the European Social Fund (ESF), whose total envelope for the 2014-2020 period amounts to 15M €.

The President of the Territorial Council, Ms Aline HANSON, would like to thank all those who took part in this work in favor of vocational training (Pole Emploi, the Prefecture Social Cohesion Cluster, CCISM, the Building and Civil Engineering Association, AHSM, METIMER, Association of fishermen of St Martin, Port of commerce of Galisbay and the various Poles of the Collectivity).

Dear Parents,

The schooling of your children must necessarily be ensured. It is a matter of guaranteeing their future, their awakening, their entry into society, and above all their education through quality education.

It is therefore up to you to enroll them as soon as possible in the school. I remind you that the registration period was from 5 January to 5 February 2015. To date, my services have informed me that we have only a few registered children. I invite you to go to the annex of the Community, to the old seaside school 22 rue de la Liberté in Marigot, to register your children as soon as possible, failing which classes will be closed. I know that many of us have obligations and do not always find the time to carry out these administrative procedures, yet the Rectorate is already reporting the closure of 5 classes on the island, Registered to date. So I decided to extend the registration deadline by a few days, so that you can complete this formality as soon as possible.

I know I can count on your unfailing involvement and your sense of duty in the good and the interest of our children. The services of the Community, in the annex of the Seaside, will welcome you from Monday to Friday, from 8h30 to 15h.
