Implementation of electronic minutes

The Collectivité of Saint-Martin informs road users of the implementation of electronic ticketing in the territory. Electronic ticketing also allows for the issuing of tickets to foreign vehicles.

The electronic traffic ticket (PVE) is a report generated digitally and processed by the National Processing Center in Rennes; it results in a notice of violation being sent to the offender's home address. The PVE facilitates ticketing, reduces disputes, and allows for immediate payment. For its implementation, local authorities must sign an agreement with the National Agency for the Automated Processing of Offenses (ANTAI) and train police officers. This is the case for the Collectivité of Saint-Martin and its territorial police force.

The electronic traffic ticket (PVE) optimizes the management of traffic offences and now replaces the paper ticket that was affixed to the windshield of the vehicle.

This system:

- Improves administrative efficiency,

- Reduces transcription errors and

- Increases the payment rate.

With the PVE, territorial police officers observe and record traffic violations using portable digital devices.

The traffic ticket is automatically generated and mailed to the registered owner's home address. An informational flyer, which is not mandatory, is affixed to the vehicle's windshield.

The electronic vehicle registration system (PVE) now allows for the issuing of fines for license plates from the French part of the territory, as well as foreign plates, including those from the Dutch part, Saint Barthélemy. Vehicles registered in Belgium, Switzerland, Spain, Italy, Austria, Luxembourg, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Portugal, Hungary, Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Sweden, Ireland, and Denmark are affected.

Anyone who has received a traffic ticket for a traffic violation in the French part of the country, detected by an automated enforcement system (radar or electronic ticket), can log on to the ANTAI website ( https://www.antai.gouv.fr/ ). This website also allows you to pay the fine, track your case, or contest the ticket.

The challenge to the fine must be made within 45 days of the date the notice of violation was sent.
