Introduction of a blue zone in the first quarter
December 16, 2025REVITALIZATION OF MARIGOT
Creation of a blue parking zone
As part of the revitalization of downtown Marigot and in order to improve its accessibility, the Collectivité of Saint-Martin has decided to introduce a "Blue Zone" parking system, starting in the first quarter of 2026.
Already tested in the territory in 2015, the Blue Zone parking will initially concern the strategic commercial strips in the city centre of Marigot, with the aim of making parking more fluid, allowing turnover and strengthening the attractiveness of businesses during the day.
This limited area aims to avoid penalizing users of the city center (residents and employees). It will concern the following routes:
- Republic Street
- Boulevard Huber Petit (Facing the West Indies Mall)
- Boulevard de France (Only on the side with shops)
- General de Gaulle Street
- President Kennedy Street
How does the blue zone work?
Parking spaces in the blue zone will be marked with specific markings on the ground and signs. Free parking is reserved for motorists displaying a parking disc.
The disc will be distributed by the Collectivité according to terms that will be communicated at the beginning of next year.
The maximum parking time will be limited to 1 hour and 30 minutes, between 9 AM and 6 PM, Monday to Saturday. Outside these hours (evenings after 6 PM, Sundays and public holidays), parking will be free without a parking disc.
Failure to display the disc constitutes an offence punishable by a fixed fine of €17 and the removal of the vehicle.
When will the blue zone be implemented?
Road marking work and the installation of traffic signs are scheduled for the first quarter of 2026. A (free) distribution campaign for parking discs will be organized in early 2026.
The phases of control and ticketing by the territorial police will be effective from the official launch of the blue zone, once the works and the installation of the signage are completed.
The Collectivité of Saint-Martin invites users to fully participate in this new parking system, which primarily aims to protect the commercial activity in the city center of Marigot.
