Launch of asphalt operations in the region

The Collectivité de Saint-Martin informs the population of the start, from Monday, October 27, 2025, of a vast road renovation and road marking operation, with the laying of asphalt on several axes of the territory.

Coordinated by the Collectivité's Roads and Equipment Department (DRE), these interventions are part of the multi-year road network maintenance and modernization program led by the Collectivité to improve user safety, driving comfort and the sustainability of public infrastructure.

I- A project structured by successive phases:

The work, entrusted to specialist local companies, will be carried out day and night, with the aim of minimising traffic disruptions.

Planned between October 2025 and January 2026, the first phase will cover the following areas:

· Route de Concordia: from October 27 to November 6, 2025

· Route de Belle Plaine: from October 29 to November 13, 202

· Friar's Bay Road: from October 28, 2025

· Coralita Road: from November 3, 2025

· Cul de Sac Road: from November 6, 2025

· Rue du Capitaine Félix Froston (Marigot): beginning of November 2025

· Rambaud–Colombier–Saint-Louis sector: from November 12, 2025

· Rue de Hollande (Marigot–Agrément–Spring): November 2025

These operations will include the complete resurfacing of the asphalt, the treatment of specific damage, as well as the replacement of horizontal markings for better visibility and safety of movement.

II- Essential work for the safety of users and the living environment

Saint-Martin's road network, which is subject to heavy traffic and climatic hazards, is the subject of a reinforced maintenance plan. The 2025-2026 asphalt program represents a significant investment by the Collectivité, integrating the credits included in the Multi-Year Investment Plan (PPI).

This operation marks a structuring stage in the road maintenance policy, alongside other actions carried out on public lighting, rainwater drainage and the renovation of sidewalks (2026).

III- Traffic and instructions for users

Throughout the duration of the work, the Collectivité invites motorists and local residents to:

· Exercise caution when approaching work areas,

· Respect temporary signage,

· Adapt their routes when possible

The DRE will regularly update the work schedule on the Collectivité 's communication channels in order to inform users of the progress of the work and any traffic restrictions.

IV- A lasting commitment to public infrastructure

This campaign illustrates the Collectivité 's desire to preserve and enhance its road heritage, while guaranteeing a level of service that meets the expectations of the people of Saint-Martin.
The interventions scheduled until the end of 2025 mark the launch of an annual maintenance cycle, which will continue in 2026, on other priority axes of the territory.

The Collectivité de Saint-Martin apologizes in advance for any inconvenience caused and thanks the population for their understanding and cooperation during the duration of these public utility works.
