Waste management is a priority for the Collectivité of Saint-Martin in order to maintain the cleanliness of the territory and protect its environment. Individuals play a key role in this process by adopting responsible practices for sorting, disposing of, and reducing their waste.
Waste management, a priority in Saint-Martin
Dumping rubbish, bulky waste, or green waste left on public roads creates visual and olfactory nuisances. This negatively impacts tourism and a healthy living environment. To prevent this type of nuisance, the Collectivité has implemented a collection system: 7 days a week for household waste and bulky items, and 6 times a week for green waste, excluding public holidays.

Waste disposal center
The Collectivité of Saint-Martin provides a waste disposal center accessible to individuals for the disposal of waste that cannot be collected through regular waste collection services. Here is the practical information:

- Opening hours : Monday to Friday, from 7am to 5pm, and Saturday from 7am to 12pm
How can I contribute?
- Follow the sorting instructions : Sorting your waste helps reduce its impact on the environment and promotes recycling.
- Reduce your waste : Favor reusable products or those with less packaging. Compost your organic waste.
- Report illegal dumping : Illegal dumping pollutes the environment and is punishable by law. You can report it to the Collectivité at 0590 87 50 04 or online via the dedicated portal.

What should be done with professional waste?
The Collectivité reminds tradespeople and shopkeepers that they are responsible for their waste and its disposal. Illegal dumping of household waste, bulky items, and green waste is prohibited by law (Article L. 541-3 of the Environmental Code).
Deposits from tradespeople (leftovers from construction sites such as rubble, tiles, used air conditioners, empty paint cans, etc.) and from traders (cardboard boxes) continually clog the garbage shelters and even the garbage bins reserved for household waste.
